Q: What is the Web Phone?
A: The Web Phone is a way to join a ZipDX conference over the internet using a web browser and a computer.
The ZipDX Web Phone (picture right) is a new way to connect to a conference call over the internet using a computer and a web browser. There’s no software to install or configure. It leverages a technology called WebRTC that is designed to allow real-time communication over the web.
The web phone works in recent releases of the Chrome and Firefox web browsers running on Linux, Windows or OSX. It also works on Chromebooks.
The web phone includes controls to allow the user to manage their participation in a conference call. They can easily mute/unmute their microphone and move between breakout rooms.
