Ellen Chang and Tony Tsou are two members of the Cadence community of conference interpreters. They recently provided live interpretation of the first the American presidential debate for broadcast by Taiwan Television.

This morning Matt Conger, CEO and Co-Founder of Cadence, informed us that Ellen and Tony will be hosting a Reddit Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) session on Wednesday, October 19th at 7am PDT. During this event they will field questions about their experience interpreting the first presidential debate for the Taiwan Television audience. The Cadence blog has the details.

Even without the public scrutiny of a such a high-profile event, conference interpreting is challenging and difficult work. A presidential debate is an extraordinarily high-profile event that includes dialogue that is both spirited and nuanced. It will be very interesting to share these two interpreter’s experience working such an unusual assignment.
