Introducing the Interpreting Technologies Alliance (ITA)
The 10th annual GALA Conference in Boston, earlier this week saw the launch of a brand new trade organization into the language services space. The Interpreting Technologies Alliance is a non-profit advocacy effort to drive the private sector to embrace interpreting in new and exciting ways.
We at ZipDX are proud to be one of the founding members of the Interpreting Technologies Alliance. We are joined in this effort by Boostlingo, Cadence Translate, Headvox, KUDO and Voiceboxer.
Each of these players brings to the table a unique perspective on building and deploying innovative multilingual products and services. Working together the group aims to expand the use of multilingual services, helping organizations of all types to discover the benefits of multilingual virtual collaboration.
ZipDX specializes in multilingual conferencing by telephone, allowing conference participants to converse naturally in different languages through the magic of the simultaneous interpreter. As providers of a technology platform with a global network, ZipDX does not supply interpreters itself, but welcomes inquiries from language services companies and independent interpreters.
Further details about the new organization are contained in a press release available here. In addition, Hélène Pielmeier of consulting firm Common Sense Advisory offers their take on the effort as well.
